This 6 bedroom & 4 bath home truly offers the best of the “old” and “new” on this incredible jade green lake in the North Georgia Mountains. With 65 miles of spectacular shoreline ranging from rocky bluffs to gently sloping lawns, Burton offers a variety of activities for all ages. Shiloh on Burton is conveniently located only 25 or 30 minutes from Helen, Clayton and Clarkesville, Ga., and just 40 minutes from the famous Dillard House in Dillard, Ga. ( only minutes from the North Carolina line)

Skiing, tubing and jet skiing are popular sports there and swimming in the clear cool (Not cold) water is fabulously refreshing!!! Fishing for bass and brim is great …and best of all… there are no better views of mountains and water than from the many porches and boat houses where “rocking” is the favorite pastime !!!

This home was recently built and yet was designed to incorporate the open warmth of the original old fishing cabins with much appreciated modern amenities including central heat & air, private office w/ wireless DSL, ample paved parking, 5 kings and 1 queen bed, plus 2 bunks ideally located in a cozy nook close to the pool table, kitchenette and TV in the lower level family room. (A great get-away for young and old alike!!!)

Just like the original fishing cabins on Burton, everyone enters through one door …obviously opening into the heart of any home ….the kitchen!! The comfort and warmth of this home are felt immediately as you appreciate the craftsmanship of the wood walls and floor, high ceilings opening to the upper floor, and the gas-lit wood burning stone fireplace.

Entry to the main level is handicapped accessible as you can drive w/in several feet of the door and have only 1 small step onto the covered porch with entry through a 3-foot door directly into the kitchen.

The main floor features a cozy bedroom w/ queen bed just off the kitchen, a full bath w/ tub, another bedroom w/ private bath and king bed, an open great room with kitchen & dining area, plus a private office and comfy sitting area complete with wireless DSL and a fabulous lake view. The plush red sofa here makes a great reading and/or napping spot!

The main level also offers a wonderful covered porch with the only requirements necessary to appreciate this marvelous view of lake and mountains…. rocking chairs….and a table and chairs for outdoor dining!! Until cold weather, the hummingbird feeders and hanging flower baskets provide entertainment as these feisty little ones battle for their coveted nectar.

The upper level overlooks the great room and features 3 bedrooms with king beds and one large bath. There is one “master” bedroom with TV, closet, rocker, dresser, and luggage areas. The other bedrooms have king beds also, yet are smaller and cozy. All bedrooms feature fabulous mountain quilts giving the true feeling of local mountain craftsmanship and color. There is also a separate heat/air control on this upper (3rd) level.

French doors from the family room on the lower level open onto a wonderful covered porch with rockers and a dining table with family style benches. From the porch, the open lush lawn slopes to the lake where there is a dock and “beach area”, a fire pit, many wonderful red Adirondack chairs and a swing.

Also located on this lower level is another “master” bedroom TV, king bed & colorful quilt, locally handcrafted mountain laurel furnishings and a collection of old and new lake and fishing treasures. French doors from this room open as well onto the covered porch. Immediately adjacent to this bedroom is a small bath w/ shower.

The lower level of this home really features another “home in one” as it has a family room w/ TV, a kitchenette with microwave, full-size refrigerator, breakfast table, coffee pot, dishes, and bar-counter & stools.

The pool table offers fun activity for all ages and the TV can be seen from this area just in case there is a sports event or movie that can’t be missed!!

Bunk beds in the cozy nook near the pool table have a nearby small TV w/ DVD ( no Direct TV here) …just for kids to use for their video games or movies …not to disturb the rest of the guests!! There is a total of 4 TV’s with Direct TV throughout the house.(Upper level “master”: main level great room: lower level great room and “master.”)
